ABOUT
MIROSU, a Surinamese saying literally translated to ‘my rose’. It is a treasure, something you cherish and appreciate.
After studying fashion and product design, I was looking for a way to connect my work with my roots. Thus, MIROSU was born.
The objects are inspired by the simple things in my childhood living in Suriname, like the surrounding nature, colours, and daily habits.
Now, I’m driven by a desire to create something meaningful for the Surinamese diaspora, infusing my work with cultural resonance and personal significance.
PROCESS
All MIROSU pieces are handcrafted in The Netherlands by me. Crafting each piece by hand not only ensures exceptional craftsmanship but also significantly reduces the carbon footprint through local production and the use of raw materials.
Every ceramic piece is made from porcelain, embodying a timeless elegance and durability.
